The struts are relatively easy to install. Removing the cowl pieces weren't too bad. No cutting or modifications were required. They work great and are very smooth to actuate. All of the hardware is provided and are of good quality. Everything fits as it should. I wish I had gotten these sooner.

There were no instructions provided, so I contacted Customer Support. Ron replied within a couple of minutes with a video to help complete the installation. I don't think I've ever had anyone contact me that fast before. Good Customer Support is just as important as having a good product am I am very impressed with both.

This hood strut kit is easy to install and made of only metal parts so it feels like it will last for years.

These hood struts are designed to fit just like OEM hood struts would, so they allow the hood to close and open smoothly without pushing the hood up when it’s supposed to be closed.

Considering that this kit is cheaper than most other car-specific kits on the market and also designed better than many others, I’d definitely recommend this product to any Mk3 Focus owner who spends any time under their hood!

I originally bought the Steeda kit. It had a few good reviews and I like their brand.. When I installed the Steeda kit, I noticed that the struts themselves smashed the black, plastic hinge covers. I don't think any of the 5 people who left a review on them noticed it, but I most certainly did because it was also pushing UP on my hinges.. which was noticable with the hood down. The flaw in that design is the fender bracket. The solution is to have a fender bracket thats behind the hinge covers, which this kit addresses.

This kit was a little harder to install. You need to remove both hinge covers, so the fender bracket can bolt to the fender and sneak up through the slot in the hinge cover.

This kit does not require any rerouting of the washer hose, and it does not push up on the hood when its closed. Also, these hold the hood at the stock "opened" height. The Steeda kit sags lower than the hood prop height.

Its the little detaiil like this that make a difference to some people, and if you notice details like this, you want to get this kit.. not the Steeda or the Redlines or some even cheaper ebay item.
